Medicated soaps

Medicinal soaps are products obtained by adding substances with a dermatological effect to basic soap. This group does not include products, which are classified as pharmaceuticals, so available only in pharmacies. Classic therapeutic soaps include soaps:

• karbolowe, containing approx. 5% phenol, with disinfecting properties;

• timber, containing approx. 5% birch tar (tar obtained from the outer layer of birch bark), with disinfecting and astringent properties;

• sulfuric, containing approx. 4% sulfur and 4% cosmetic petroleum jelly, used as an anti-acne agent;

• ichtiolowe, containing approx. 5% ichtiolu, with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties;

• tar and sulfur, containing approx. 3% birch tar, 4% sulfur, 4% cosmetic petroleum jelly;

• ichthyol-sulfur, containing approx. 2% sulfur and 3% ichtiolu;

• salicylic, containing approx. 3% salicylic acid and 3% cosmetic petroleum jelly, with disinfecting properties;

• vaseline, containing approx. 5% cosmetic petroleum jelly, moisturizing dry skin;

• lanolin, containing approx. 5% cosmetic lanolin, with oily properties, restoring the skin's natural state;

• chamomile, containing chamomile extract with anti-inflammatory properties.

Classic therapeutic soaps act directly on the skin and eliminate the effects of adverse changes taking place on it. The new concepts of medicinal soaps envisage the incorporation of agents into the soaps, which have a long-lasting and comprehensive effect on the skin and the human body. An example of such soaps is the Laboratoires Cosmeto-Persavon series of medicinal soaps, which include soaps:

• Slimming Soap, referred to as a slimming soap, contains iodine, which stimulates the production of a hormone that accelerates the metabolism, produced by the thyroid gland, and at the same time protects the skin against bacteria;

• Savon Hydratant is a moisturizing soap for dry and sensitive skin, contains sea algae extract, which has a positive effect on the increased absorption of moisturizing substances in the skin tissues and keeps it in its optimal hydration;

• Purifying Soap, containing Criste morine algae extract, which have a cleansing effect, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and regenerating for the skin, intended for oily skin;

• Savon Surgas, intended for allergic and sensitive skin, enriched with glycerin, lanolin, almond oil and avocado, has nutritional and protective properties.
